The boundary between private and public becomes increasingly blurred and the desire to exhibit oneself and to observe others exhibiting their lives begins to look like a collective addiction. Although autobiographical texts in particular seem to be private and personal in nature, they are in actual fact the results of self-staging.(Die Furche, 20 April 2006)
